AXEL

Matt signaled at me impatiently while I was busy with Essie, and it pissed me off. Whatever that was, it could wait twenty minutes. That was not an appropriate way of leaving my girl, but that was the most I could give her at that moment.

“What?” I muttered when I reached him and we both started walking towards the secluded playrooms in the back.

“I’ve got it,” he bragged with a huge grin, flipping his phone in his hand. “Lucas really came through. He is not even in it, but she is.”

“Oh well, that sounds perfect,” I grinned and snatched the phone from his hands. I watched the video on triple fast forward, not wanting to see too much but wanting to make sure we caught Layla. “Okay, good, good,” I nodded as I shouldered through a door carelessly and dropped down on the sofa.

All the playrooms were the same, a big King sized bed, a velvet sofa and a variety of toys to choose from. Even Christian Gray would have been jealous of this collection. They all smelled the same too, cleaning products and jasmine. I didn’t know why it was jasmine, but it always smelled like that.

“Are you sure we won’t get into trouble?” Matt asked, sitting next to me. “Not that I care, but I want to graduate.”

I shook my head. “One, Lucas took the video. He sent it to everyone on the soccer team so it could have been anyone. Two, we will post it within the school, not on the entire social media. And three, Layla turned eighteen at the beginning of September, which means she is legally an adult, so even if this gets out of hand, she is not a minor hence we are fine.”

“Now you throw in legal stuff, like you are Essie,” he snorted with a grin.

I knew my way around basic law. As someone once said, learn the rules and break them like a pro.

“Whatever,” I shrugged and swiped on his phone airdropping the video to myself. “I’ll post it for you. So it’s not your IP.”

Matt groaned. “But don’t use yours either.”

“Of course not,” I rolled my eyes, as I swiped on my phone, logging onto a VPN I used for shady things. Mostly online poker, to be fair.

I logged onto the school’s private social media account that was only followed by students and managed by students, and I posted the video there. I didn’t post the full, only 45 seconds, and I ticked sharing on multiple platforms, including Instagram and TikTok. After a short thought process, I decided to caption the video simply: Meet the newest student of Eastview High. She is open to enquiries. Without any emojis, I hit publish now.

“Done,” I winked happily, logging out of everything and wiping my history clean before doing a happy dance in my seat.

Matt laughed and rested his head against the sofa. “One problem less. Let’s get drunk.”

“You have an issue,” I muttered, shaking my head.

“That reminds me...” He pointed at me as he jumped up, fixing the waistband of his dark jeans.
